The Track is the S**t.

I rode the velodrome for the first time yesterday. I have been saving my first fixed gear experience for my first track experience (in defiance of hipsters), so not only was it my first time on the track, but also on a fixed gear. The fixed gear was fine, but the banking was scarier than I thought. Out in the stands, it just looks like a banked turn. Low on the track, the banking looks like a wall.

Ton of fun though. I need to work on my fitness so I don't get tired and thus slower when I hit the turns. I also need to work on fitting the track bike with new bars and stem.

I like the track because I like to go in circles and there's no hills.

I also started the track class tonight. It rained out, so we spent the time in the classroom. Tim decided he wants to come along, so for the next three weeks he's going to be like the embarrassing parent in the corner.

I'm looking forward to not just being a spectator this year and taking advantage of having such a great velodrome so close by.

Go girl! Show the hipsters how it's done! Ride like the wind!

Ok, just have a ton of fun. That's all you have to do. And you're right; track is the sh*%!
