It's true, I said yes.
The strangest thing about getting a marriage proposal is that you're the only one that doesn't know about it. Turns out "doing taxes with mom" was really going to Tiffany's to buy the ring, "guys night out" was really picking it up, "I'm going on a bike ride" was really going to talk to my mom, "going to Little Guys to pick something up" was really bringing a cake to Dusty's, etc. etc. I feel happy in a sort of fooled way, which means I was totally surprised and caught off guard. And believe it or not, SR really is a sweetheart.
The other strange part is the slow realization that you are being proposed too. As if the "I spoke with you mom, brother and sister" part, the "I have something I want you to have" part, and the little blue box aren't dead give-a-ways, I still had to wait to see the ring and hear the question before I fully believed what was happening.
So now I am a fiancee and I have a fiancee (or does that word only pertain to women?) and I have the day off to soak it all in thanks to Tim's finagling with my boss.
