Spending a day in a tree farm is a bad idea when allergic to trees

I went to watch the Red Barn Cx Classic at Erickson Brothers Tree Farm yesterday and spent my day among bike racers, Halloween costumes and pine trees. From a spectator's point of view, it seems like Gopher Wheelmen and the Erickson Bros. really got their shit together. It seems like a really well put together race, free hot dogs, costume contest, great atmosphere and fun technical course.

Unfortunately for me, I'm allergic to pine trees. This is always something that I forget until I have some kind of reaction. I was tromping around the trees checking out the course and chasing bunnies when I noticed my breathing getting a little shallow. I didn't think too much of it. Then I wandered over to the barriers and my face started itching.

Oh crap, pine trees. This city girl tends to forget...must find clear air....

So I spent the rest of my afternoon around the feed zone/start finish line trying not to feel too light headed and still had a good time, but I can't say I'd do it again next year.
